  • A. We collect reusable clean clothing(for all ages and genders); paired shoes, accessories (handbags, hats, jewellery, scarves, belts, etc...) bric a brac (by bric a brac we mean small decorative ornaments, picture frames, mirrors, gift sets), toys, perfumes and toileteries. • A. Fill the bag(s) provided with your unwanted reusable clothing and leave them out by 9am on the collection day in full view from the road. Alternately you can prebook your collection online by providing your full address.
  • Q. Do you collect on the same day every week?
  • A.  When you receive a bag the collection date is indicated on the bag. For example, you might receive a bag on a Monday with the collection day indicated on the bag as Wednesday. Please note that this means that the collection day will take place on the Wednesday for the week when the bag was received, but this does not mean that we collect every Wednesday. Please feel free to contact us. We have a helpline number on the bag for missed bags, bookings and other collection enquiries.
  • Q. What if I need more than one bag?
  • A. Feel free to use any additional bags if more are required, we only post one bag per household to reduce plastic, but we will collect all the bags you leave out for us.

BOGUS COLLECTORS

BEWARE OF BOGUS COLLECTORS! How to spot a bogus collection bag?

Look carefully on the bag for the charity registration number. The charity’s contact details can be obtained from their website and the registration number can be checked on the Charity Commission website: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/charity-commission

The use of printed plastic collection bags used to be an indication that the collection was likely to be genuine. If the quality of the print isn’t sharp or the bag is displaying a dated logo or design (for example) this may indicate that the bag isn’t genuine.

Other warning signs to look out for: Wording, poor spelling, similar charity name (eg. Trees of Hope), punctuation or grammar mistakes usually make it more likely that the bag isn’t genuine.

If you are in doubt about the legitimacy of a charity bag or of a collection that is taking place in your area, always contact us or the charity directly to verify this. The genuine bag is displayed on the charity's website www.treeofhope.org.uk/sos-clothes/. All our collectors/distributors use a marked van, carry an ID badge and are instructed to follow our best practice fundraising guidelines, beware of thieves. If you do not wish to leave your donations outside you can contact us to arrange a home collection.
